Houlihan Valuation Advisors started providing valuation services in 1987 to the Salt Lake City area. Since then, Houlihan Valuation Advisors has grown its presence nationally and has clients all over the country. We specialize in valuing businesses and intangible assets for a wide variety of purposes.
Business appraisals can be done on a minority interest basis, or controlling interest basis. Valuation Standards include Fair Market Value, Fair Value, and Intrinsic Value/ Investment Value. Houlihan Valuation Advisors has extensive experience in each of the above and knowledgeable about which basis and standard are appropriate for our clients’ stated purpose.
Fairness Opinions
Fairness Opinions are an excellent method of managing the risk of a transaction by obtaining an independent expert opinion of the fairness of a transaction to the Company’s non-controlling shareholders. This in effect provides a layer of protection to a Company’s Board of Directors and Executive Team. Fairness Opinions serve as an effective risk management tool shifting much of the transaction risk surrounding valuation from the Company to Houlihan Valuation Advisors.

Houlihan Valuation Advisors can provide clients with consulting & advisory services when the scope of work does not require a full business valuation. These services do not meet the ASA Business Valuation Standards I-IX nor the Unified Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
